23. Awareness
Awareness
What is awareness?
Awareness is the space in which all perception exists. All of life is aware.
Consciousness is what one is aware of: our senses, feelings, and thoughts, as well as the objects of the senses. It is the substance of existence.
Our awareness and perceived consciousness are a marriage made in heaven. Awareness is the stable center, while consciousness is ever-changing... stirring and resting.
Awareness perceives consciousness through minds, which are unique spaces.
Individual minds exist within a Universal mind that coordinates all consciousness in a collective reality.* Individual minds migrate in and out of collective realities.
The purpose of existence is to experience ideas of being (souls). As individual beings, we experience the unique forms of consciousness of our innermost self, God.
God isn't something you “see” or “know” because it is the state of total awareness of everything that constitutes seeing and knowing.
As awakened self-aware beings, we know all existence to be our own consciousness and watch our sensed reality flow in synchronous harmony with our thoughts and feelings.
As unawakened beings, we perceive consciousness as divided: sense objects being exterior to ourselves; feelings and thoughts being within ourselves; with senses being the intermediary.
Our existence is then viewed as a struggle between the inner and the outer and we, therefore, attempt to limit and control all forms of consciousness. Thus, being at war with ourselves, conflict is experienced in all facets of living.
The more separate a person views its sensed reality to be from itself, the more fearful, hostile, dependent, and powerless they become.
The more unified a person knows its reality to be, the more faithful, loving, independent, and powerful they become.
All realities are equally “real” since all experience is a perception of our consciousness. It is, therefore, essential how we view reality.
Many may consider planet earth to be the ground of existence, but this is just a moment in eternity. Even the unique and beautiful soul forms of consciousness come in and out of existence. The fundamental reality is You, eternal awareness.
*Group minds are the higher selves of individual minds. Ant colony and bee hive minds are visible examples of this.
