4. Easter
Easter
Why was Easter, the celebration of Christ's rebirth, given its name?
It is because the Sun rises in the East.* The Sun, which represents the Christ (Son of God), is reborn each day at dawn.
When does Easter occur?
On the first Sun-day, after the first Full Moon in Spring. The Full Moon represents fulfillment from reflecting Christ's light.
Why is Easter celebrated in the Spring?
Because the Spring is to the year as dawn is to the day. At the Spring Equinox, the Sun's light gains prominence over darkness and life flourishes (Easter eggs).
Interestingly, the study group of parents giving birth to 4 or more children (347 people) was dominant in the first two signs of Spring: Aries and Taurus (as well as Scorpio).
*The name Easter came from Oestra, a goddess of Spring. The root of the word oestra is "dawn" or "shine". Thus, the connection between the Spring, dawn, the East, and Easter.
